Your Dream Home

Moving into my first home, I remember posting this quote from Oprah on my fridge. It read, "Your home should replenish your senses and feed your soul. If you live in chaos, it drains your life force."

This has been a favorite affirmation of my for a long time because it reminds me that there is pride and a sense of belonging when you own your own home. Your home is your retreat from the commotion of every day life, a place where you can recharge your batteries.

In the real estate world there is talk about curb appeal and how to attract a potential buyer, but for those who are not ready to sell their home yet why not create a space that will feed your soul? What is your favorite part of your home you enjoy spending time in? If you don't have one, where would you most like to spend time it and then make it more inviting?

When giving your home the extra TLC it needs to make it more cozy, more you, some things you may want to consider giving the front door a fresh coat of paint. What color would you like to paint it? Perhaps a stunning fire engine red to really make it pop or a simple neutral color for a more elegant look.

Find your escape in your backyard by adding path lighting or floodlights to the landscaping. Not only does it accent your focal points around your yard and make them stand out more, there is a safety factor too. Plant flowers around your home, perhaps create some stunning pots to place around the patio, for a more picturesque setting and to add a splash of color.

What are some things you want to do around your home to make it more inviting?
