Thanks to the growing popular of Pinterest, it seems that many more people are finding the
inspiration for DIY projects. So many ideas and tips are offered, detailing some tricks you may never have thought of. One of my favorite parts about the DIY ideas on the site is the concept of taking old things and up-cycling them.
The idea of up-cycling is not new, but it seems to be catching on with a gusto. There are so many projects to try from handing painting linens, giving a bookcase a new look, and so much more. Some benefits of up-cycling, in addition to giving items a second life, is it saves you money from going out and buying new things and reduces waste going into our landfills.
This week I challenge you not to spend any money for one week and find something in your home to refurbish (perhaps something you would normally have bought in the store). Be creative and see what you can do with that old piece of furniture. Get your kids involved with the project too, have fun making something the whole family will enjoy.
