Some quick advice from our Fit To Sell series Carla Woolnough, staging expert, weighs in about the importance of lighting and furniture placement. Here are a few highlights from the video:

• Lighting have all lights on while showing your home.
• Dark corners can make the room look smaller so create lots of light.
• Dimmers are another great an addition for ambiance and buyers consider them an upgrade.
• Look at your lighting features. Are they updated? Potential buyers will notice them and will take them into consideration when putting an offer down on your home. 

Furniture placement is critical as it will show off the room to its full potential. Keep in mind how potential buyers will walk through the room. Condition of your furniture? If it looks worn or outdated, buyers will assume the home is also.

Remember, when it comes to selling your home, first impression is key. Having the front of the house warm and welcoming is important to getting any potential buyer to stop and take a look.
